Species of Atania
Humans
The remnants of humanity after their exodus from the Orisol system. Led by the governmental body of the U.I.F.H. and their High Prime representative, humans have learned to navigate the ways of Atania and come out stronger for it.
Kunar (Koo-nahr)
The third of the High Prime species, the Kunar are a militaristic group led by the Kunar Regime. Kunar have an extensive history of waging war against the other species of Atania, which resulted in the environmental destruction of their own planet.
Kunar have rock-like skin that cover their entire bodies, granting them incredible protection against weather and weapons alike. Their genetic structure also causes them to be much taller than other species, often around seven feet.
Kunar come in various shades of grey with different crystalline adornments on their heads, faces, and shoulders.
Terric (Tear-ick)
A junker species that are constantly salvaging materials, making black market deals and breaking down tech. Because of this, the Terrics have a natural animosity towards Uvari and are seen in a predominately negative light by other species across the galaxy.
Terrics are distinguished by their relatively furry insectoid body that comes in shades of brown, black, tan, beige and grey, flashing compound eyes, and antennae. Terrics don’t speak through mouths, but through vibrations emitted from their antennae. Because of this, males have no mouth and females have a downward curved beak that is more aesthetic than function.
Valnaken (Vall-knack-in)
One of the less common species in Atania, Valnakens stand out amongst a crowd with their slug like bodies and three eye stalks. They migrate seasonally and are known for their extremely extroverted natures. Valnakens come in a variety of colors, but are all entirely hairless.
Chyl (Sheel)
One of the High Prime species, the Chyl believe that life moves in a flow rather than a cycle. This makes them a straightforward and no-nonsense people that are constantly looking for a way to move forward or achieve their goals. Because of this, some believe that the Chyl come across as crass and pompous, a thought which is only amplified by the Chyl’s lavish and extravagant lifestyle.
The Chyl are a humanoid species, distinguished by the star-like specks that dabble their body and sparkle in sunlight. These specks form markings that hold cultural pride to the Chyl, with more intricate markings meaning higher societal status. This creates a class rift between the High Marks and the Low Marks. Chyl also come in light shades of pink, yellow, green and purple, and have pointed ears (more elven in nature) to distinguish them further.
Uvari (Oo-vhar-ee)
A member of the Collective, the Uvari are a technologically-driven species that live on the desolated planet Millik. Because of their role as weapon makers in the ancestral war, the Uvari were forced to fend for themselves until the Collection adopted them. At this point in time, however, Uvari tech had become so complex that many had become cybernetically augmented in some way.
Uvari value knowledge and exploration, sending away younger members of the species on rite of passage expeditions to uncharted realms. Some Uvari, however, use this opportunity to flee Millik and forge lives of their own. These fleers, known as searchers, are excommunicated from Uvari culture.
Uvari come in every shade of blue imaginable, have silver-tipped circuitry-like veins that run through their body, and their hair colors range from white to various neon shades. Some Uvari take their cybernetic enhancements beyond the norm, opting for large visual pieces while others maintain more subtle looks.
Sirinians (Sir-in-ee-ans)
Sirinians are a mostly female sister-species to the Chyl. Humanoid in appearance, Sirinians have thinner, sharper ears and starry flecks across all of their skin, as opposed to the Chyl’s facial markings. Sirinians come in pastel or cooler metallic colors such as silver, gold, and rose gold. They also tend to have very light colored hair.
Ixr (Ick-eer)
One of the major species in the New Galaxy, the Ixr are known for their affinity towards business and economics. Coming in shades of red, dark green, tan, and orange, the Ixr are also characterized by their neon-colored hair, slim, angular faces, pointed or half-circle ears, and neon facial markings (akin to tattoos). The Ixr are a prominent member of the Collective and have very good relations with the Chyl.
